Cayman Islands
The Cayman Islands, a British Overseas Territory, encompasses 3 Islands in the western Caribbean Sea. Grand Cayman, the largest, is known for its beach resorts and varied scuba diving and snorkelling sites. Cayman Brac, is a popular launch point for deep-sea fishing excursions. Little Cayman, the smallest island, is home to diverse wildlife, from endangered Iguanas to Seabirds such a red-footed Boobies.
The territory’s beaches are characterised by fine sand and warm, gentle surf, from Grand Cayman’s Seven Mile Beach and its string of hotels, restaurants and shops to pink-hued Point of Sands, on Little Cayman. Abundant undersea chutes, tunnels and caverns at sites such as Eden Rock, Bloody Bay Wall and Snapper Hole make for prime scuba diving. Coral reefs and the shipwrecks of the Captain Keith Tibbets and the Cali invite snorkelling. On Grand Cayman, the Stingray City sandbar and Cayman Turtle Farm afford up-close encounters with Atlantic southern Stingrays and endangered green sea turtles.
If you have never been to the Cayman Islands, give it a visit, with so much to do and see you will not be disappointed.
